Order your custom commission in 3 simple steps!

How it works:

1. Select type of commission.

Choose a commission type from the options further down the page. In the listing, select preferred medium, size, and number of subjects. Purchase your selected listing with the options of your choice.

2. Send in your reference photos.

Send an email to info@iliyanfineart.com with the reference photos for your commission. Include your order# and the word "Images" in the subject line. Describe what you would like for your commission, and if there is anything specific the artist should know.

3. Receive your custom commission.

Once the artist has your order, it will take 2-4 weeks to complete. You will receive occasional process updates such as when a painting has entered the drying stage.

Selecting a medium

Commissions are offered in three different art media - oil, pastel, and charcoal. Read on below to see which one is right for you.

  • Oil Portrait

Oil on canvas is the classic medium for high-quality portraits that last over time. The medium wears well, and is ideal for pieces that will become cherished family heirlooms. Oil paint offers great depth and richness of color, and can be mixed and layered in ways that cannot be replicated in any other medium. Because oil paint needs time to cure, it extends the time needed for completion.

  • Pastel Portrait

A masterfully drawn color portrait with no drying time required. Pastels allow for a lifelike level of detail, and give the piece a velvety, matte quality. Pastel artwork is more prone to fading than oil, so it must be framed and kept behind glass to better preserve the color over time.

  • Charcoal Portrait

A stylish black-and-white portrait for a fraction of the price. These high-contrast pieces are a great choice for any space. Since chacoal portraits require no drying time, and work with values of light and dark rather than color, this greatly speeds up the completion process.
