How to commission a portrait?

Our process is simple.
  • Choose your preferred medium and size from the options on the Commissions page.
  • Email the images your commission will be painted from to info@iliyanfineart.com. Include the order# and the word "Images" in the subject. Describe what you would like for your commission, and if there is anything specific the artist should know.
  • Once the artist has your order, you will receive a follow-up email. Commissions can take up to 4-6 weeks to complete depending on complexity and current bookings. You will receive occasional process updates such as when a painting has entered the drying stage.

Expedited shipping is available for an additional charge.

Can you combine images/subjects from several photos, and can I choose a background?

Absolutely. You can send in several pictures with a description of what your preferences are. If are not certain what exactly you would like the finished piece to look like, I will make a composition and send you a comprehensive sketch for review before I move on to the bulk of the piece.

How to choose a size for the portrait?

Size depends on the number of subjects to be painted and it is usually suggested by the artist.

Can I order a custom size and what will the price be?

Are revisions allowed during the painting process?

Once a commission is in progress, only minor changes can be made. You will be receiving one or two updates throughout the process.

Do you offer frames for commissions?

iliyanFineArt.com does not offer frames at the moment. Simple frames are available upon request for certain sizes for an additional fee.

What payment options are available?

You can securely check out via our website. We accept all major Credit Cards, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay.

If you prefer to pay in instalments, please select the Shop Pay option.

What should I do if my painting is lost or damaged?

If your order has been lost in transit, we will re-make your commissioned artwork at absolutely no charge to you. 

If your order has been damaged during transportation:
1. Take photos of the damaged package, prior to opening. Please do so as soon as possible after receiving the package, no later than 10 days of receipt.
2. After taking photos of the unopened damaged package, carefully open the package and inspect the artwork. Take photos of any damage to the artwork. 
3. To start a return, please contact us at info@iliyanfineart.com. Attach the photos of the damaged package and artwork. We will then send you instructions on how and where to send it back.
4. Once we receive the damaged artwork, we will either repair the damage or, if the damage cannot be fixed, we will re-create your commission for you, free of charge. Damaged artwork is not eligible for refunds. 

How long does it take to create a portrait?

Once the artist has your order, it cat take up to 6 weeks to complete depending on complexity of the order and current bookings. You will receive occasional process updates such as when a painting has entered the drying stage. Faster completion may be available for a rush fee; please contact info@iliyanfineart.com with any special requests.

What is included in the commission price?

Commission prices include labor, all materials, and packaging the artwork for transportation. 

What about shipping?

Shipping is paid by the customer. Rates are calculated at checkout depending on your zip code. You will receive a tracking number as soon as your piece has shipped.

How is my order protected during shipping?

Your order is safely packed in multiple protective layers, hard-shelled in a protective shipping box, and marked “Handle with care.”

How can I commission a landscape, still-life, or any other artwork not shown in the commission options?

For custom requests not shown on the website, please contact info@iliyanfineart.com. Attach any applicable images, and/or describe what you have in mind.

What is your return policy?

We accept returns on prints only within 30 days of order. Refunds are issued as soon as the return arrives.
We do not accept returns on commissions. If your order has been lost or damaged in transit, we will repair the artwork, or re-create it if it is beyond repair.
